The last three years, have been witness to an economic and political watershed around the world. Never before have the inequities of our economic system been clearer. Increasingly regular people are asked to pay for the mistakes and excesses of the rich, in a world where profit trumps human need. From the daily violence visited upon the women of Vancouver by a system structured to oppress, to the ongoing struggles against greed and corporate excess, Vancouver has been at the centre of a world of backwards priorities.
In the face of myopic resistance from the current council, Lauren humbly asks for your vote to provide a strong voice on Vancouver City Council. A voice to stop the gentrifying forces that destroy neighborhoods and leave people destitute, a voice to combat systemic racism and violence against women, a voice for the regular working people of Vancouver.
